今回は、固定ページや記事の投稿ページにあるビジュアルエディタとテキストエディタについて解説します。

ビジュアルエディタとは

ビジュアルエディタとは、HTMLコードやCSSの知識が無くても、簡単に記事を投稿する事が出来る編集画面の事をいいます。

通常のメールやLINEなどと同じように、文字を入力して画像を挿入する、そのような単純な操作で記事が投稿できます。

ワードプレス初心者や、外出先からスマートフォンでワードプレスのスマホアプリを使って記事を投稿する際にはビジュアルエディタの使用が最も簡単です。

テキストエディタとは

文章や画像のサイズ、装飾（デザイン）を、細かく指定したい場合にはテキストエディタで固定ページや記事投稿を行う必要があります。

テキストエディタではHTMLコードやCSSを直接入力することで、ワードプレスのテーマに依存しない自由なレイアウトが可能となります。

スマホ投稿ではどちらがおすすめ？

ワードプレスのスマホアプリでも、テキストエディタとビジュアルエディタを選んで記事を投稿することが可能です。

それでは、スマホアプリを使って記事を投稿する場合、テキストエディタとビジュアルエディタのどちらが良いのでしょうか？

それなりにこだわりを持ったレイアウトやデザインを前提とした記事を書こうとすること自体、そういったことはPCでの編集に勝るものはない、というのが個人的な感想です。

むしろ、スマホを使用する前提はキーボードやマウスが無い状態で、いかに指の動きだけで手軽に操作が行えるのか、といったことが重要になると思います。そういった意味でも、ワードプレスのスマホアプリから記事を投稿する場合には、デフォルトのビジュアルモードで記事の追加・編集を行い、もしこだわりたい部分があるのならば、とりあえず下書き保存をしておいて後からPC上で細かい設定をテキストモードで行うのが妥当ではないかと思います。
